Fiber Opener Machine LB-208

How the Fiber Opening Machine Works

The LB-208 Fiber Opener Machine is used to loosen and separate tangled textile waste, turning knotted or compressed yarns and fabric scraps into loose, workable fibers for further processing.

Textile waste often arrives twisted and compacted, which can lead to fiber breakage, uneven processing, or damage to blades and rollers if fed directly into other machines. To prevent this, this fiber opening machine performs the first opening step using special card clothing, where fine metal teeth on a rotating roller gently comb fibers apart without cutting or breaking them.

The LB-208 Fiber Opener Machine is designed for the first opening stage in textile recycling and fiber recovery lines. This textile opening machine prepares tangled yarns and fabric waste by gently opening fibers, allowing subsequent cleaning, cutting, or recycling processes to run more smoothly and efficiently. In cotton recycling and spinning applications, this type of equipment is also commonly referred to as a cotton opener or cotton opener machine, although it is designed to handle a wide range of textile materials beyond cotton.

  • First-stage fiber opening

This fiber opening machine is designed specifically for the first opening step, where textile waste is still tightly tangled, twisted, or compacted. By gently loosening fibers at this early stage, the machine helps prevent fiber breakage and reduces mechanical stress on downstream equipment.
  • Special card clothing opening system

The main roller is covered with special card clothing, consisting of rows of fine metal teeth. As material passes through, these teeth comb and tease fibers apart gradually, untangling knots and opening fiber bundles without cutting or tearing the fibers. This controlled opening process helps maintain fiber length and quality.
  • Dust-removal blade

During fiber opening, a dust-removal blade removes loose dust and light impurities released from the material. This helps keep fibers cleaner before entering subsequent processes and reduces contamination and wear in later machines.
  • Variable speed control with a frequency inverter

The operating speed can be adjusted to match different materials. Slower speeds allow fibers to be opened more gently, while faster speeds increase processing capacity for less tangled waste.
  • Modular card clothing design

The card clothing units can be replaced individually rather than as a complete assembly. This modular design simplifies maintenance, shortens downtime, and lowers long-term operating costs.

This fiber opener machine is suitable for opening a wide range of textile waste material, including cotton yarn waste, blended yarns, fabric selvage, fabric scraps, nylon filaments, and polyester filaments. It is commonly used as the first processing step in textile recycling, fiber recovery, and spinning waste preparation lines.

LB-208

The standard LB-208 suits high-volume recycling and fiber recovery lines, with a capacity of 500 to 800 kg/hr, a 1020 mm working width, and a 25.2 kw motor. The LB-208-75 is a smaller footprint option for lower output or tighter floor space, running 300 to 500 kg/hr with an 18.7 kw motor and a 760 mm working width. Both models run at 900 to 1100 r.p.m. and use the same card clothing opening and dust-removal system, so fiber quality stays consistent regardless of scale.

Does the card clothing system risk cutting or damaging fibers during opening?

No. Fine metal teeth on a rotating roller comb and tease the fibers apart instead of cutting them. The action loosens knots and opens compacted bundles while keeping the original fiber length and quality intact.

How does the LB-208 manage dust and impurities released during opening?

A built-in dust-removal blade clears loose dust and light impurities as the material passes through. Fibers arrive cleaner at the next stage, and downstream machines see less contamination and wear.
